The Carlton Hotel originally opened as Hotel Seville in early 20th century New York City as a tribute to the ornate elegance of old New York. Opening in 1904, just months before the opening of the New York City subway, Hotel Seville was one of several hotels in the early part of the century to transform the neighborhood’s low-scale blocks into a chic, high-rise avenue. Now, over one hundred years later, the hotel completed a multi-million dollar transformation by world-renowned architect David Rockwell, infusing the hotel with an ultra-modern spirit while preserving the design-forward elements of the hotel’s historical aesthetic.
Located in Manhattan’s Madison Square Park district, The Carlton is just steps from Madison Square Park, Herald Square and the Empire State Building. The Flatiron, Murray Hill and Gramercy neighborhoods are nearby and Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and Grand Central Station are within walking distance.
An array of dining options suit your every need - from the antique lobby bar perfect for people watching to Salon Millesime, a lively lounge area that serves as a local coffee bar throughout the morning, and later, transforms itself into a wine bar serving small plates of food throughout the evening. On the second level is Millesime, a bustling seafood brasserie, with a marble raw bar and an open kitchen that allows you to watch the culinary team at work, and Bar Millesime, a reservations only cocktail bar.
